George Lavender

George is buried in the Lavender family cemetery in Hardin County, Illinois.  His gravestone tells us that he fought for the 121st Virginia Militia, as a Private, in the War of 1812.

George was born in Botetourt County, Virginia.  He moved to Illinois in the 1820's, after a brief stop in Livingston, Kentucky.
